Very beautiful Louis Vuitton cabin trunk from the 1910s in perfect condition, protected by leather borders. There is also the emblematic monogrammed cotton canvas painted with stencil, as well as jewelery and brass locks stamped "Louis Vuitton Paris". A red band is painted on the trunk, allowing at the beginning of the century to differentiate the different luggage of the original customer by his staff during a trip.
Shipping labels indicate in particular a round trip between the Netherlands and the United States of America with the famous shipping company "Holland-America Line".
The inside of the trunk is lined with a beige linen canvas, with an original quilting in the upper part and a removable frame to store clothes in the tub. The canvas straps and brass buckles are monogrammed "Louis Vuitton". We also notice the label of the manufacturer Louis Vuitton, with the serial number of the trunk inscribed on the linen.
Very good condition: Despite two long transatlantic journeys, an often perilous adventure for luggage at the beginning of the 20th century, this trunk is in superb condition, with a very beautiful patina of the leather and the exterior canvas. The interior is perfect - everything is original on this trunk.
